What Do The Geniuses in Class Think of Themselves?

Geniuses in class are those who scored CGPA of 3.8 and above. An interview has been made to all these geniuses with the question: How do you feel being called a genius in class?

1. The Self-Conscious Ones

This category of people knows that they are the genius in class and THEY NEED TO BE ONE. Their responses included: “Natural la.” They also feel great being called The Genius because they know they are the genius. Because of their self-consciousness, they will most probably put themselves NUMBER 1 first before anything; therefore, they may need all the praises and compliments you can give to boost their self-esteem. Despite their constant need for attention, they can become your best study mates as long as you treat them as ‘The Genius One.’

2. The Humble Ones

This category of students knows that hard work is the only way to being GENIUS. No study, then no good CGPA, then no good University, then no good career, .... So they study hard to get good results; therefore, they are called the genius in class for their good results. These are also “your best friends” when tests and quizzes are in 1 week to boost your motivation. Nonetheless, they will most probably deny themselves as the genius ones. They believe they need to keep studying to score good grades.

3. The Wise Ones

This category of students knows that the sky's the limit and there are many more geniuses in this world. Or, they know that the examinations in INTI are as simple as ABC (as long you study). These are the students who have also gone through hardships in their studies. Therefore, they have the wisdom of growth mindset in the sense that resilience in your education is the only way to get good results and therefore becoming The Genius in class. Of course, they won’t call themselves genius because again, the sky's the limit.

As final is just around the corner, don’t beat yourself up because you have skipped too many classes or fear of not getting the results you desire. Take the words from The Wise Ones and start studying! Don’t just call The Humble Ones your ‘BESTEST FRIEND’ or ‘SIFU’ just because of tests, they are kind but they know *wink*. Instead, you can call The Self-Conscious Ones to go study with you but beware they always put themselves NUMBER 1 :).

The Year I Peaked

My Prime Year I was scrolling my Facebook feed when this showed up in my Facebook Memories. This particular picture taken from Mass Comm Society’s official Facebook page from 2018 from their album titled “Hollywood Night: Trip Down The Memory Lane.” If memory serves me correct, this was the second Member’s Gathering by MCS that year, and the one thing that attracted me to this picture was my long hair tied up in a ponytail. My hair was also thick, which is a far cry from my thinning hairline today. Seeing me in this form today instantly triggered something within my brain and made me come to the realisation that 2018 was the year where I was in my prime – something I definitely have taken for granted, or that I have completely forgotten considering what I ended up going through between then and now. Have you ever wondered? About what, you may ask? About the language we speak? Isn't it strange that everyone around the world, ourselves included, simply put our trust into the people who taught us the language that we speak, write and even think in? When we were growing up, we blindly believed the information that others may have told us. And when we questioned them, some valid reasons were provided but most often, we were told that we'd understand when we grew older. But, for some unknown reasons, I still question many things in life, simpler ones such as colors, for instance. Why is blue called blue? And green called green? Why is anything named and called the way it is? Thus, in my opinion, our culture has shaped humankind into what we are now.
