Mental Health during MCO
Mental Health during MCO
With the pandemic, COVID-19, increasing worldwide in many countries, citizens are forced to
stay home for months, regardless whether they are students, white collars, or workers. Some are even
unemployed during this period as the companies prefer to minimize their costs. Students, ranging from primary schoolers to university students were also forced to have their education online instead of physical classes.
It is reported by many reliable sources that individuals who are suffering with mental issues are resulting to suicide during this MCO lockdown. Dealing with mental issues is difficult and challenging, especially trying to think positively all the time. It’s completely okay to break down once in a while for having to go through all the hardships in life but always keep yourself reminded that whatever happens, it happens for a reason. Also, remember that coming back stronger each time, you'll be able to solve your problems eventually.
One could deal with these mental issues by keeping oneself busy. Start off by doing things that
you like, for example, cooking, painting, or even reading some of your favorite novels. Doing
things that you like could help to tick off one of the tasks that you have been longing to do due
to the busy schedules on normal days. It is certain that an individual would have more than one
liking, therefore, it will help to pass time at home.

This current MCO lockdown also allows many families to bond and reunite. Spending time with
family members helps one to understand and learn more about one another, which could lead to
better communication and harmony. Being close with family members is an advantage as one
could express their feelings and emotions, whereby having people who love you spend their
time around you, would be the absolute feeling and comfort.
Not only that, one could spend their time in the kitchen baking cookies or cupcakes with family
members. Additionally, you could start up a small business with reasonable prices to get a side income during this pandemic. On the other hand, one would be able to have fun times which creates new memories; the sidetracks during the process of baking the cookies and cupcakes could be cherished.

Forget not, there are hotlines to certified organizations who are able to help with mental issues,
such as Befrienders (03-79568145). Keep in mind that you are always loved by the people
around you, and do not jump to conclusions during hard times, for it will result in bad decision
making and regret. Spread positivity to the people around you and help those in need during this period of time, as we are all struggling together. With a little help of hand and positivity, there will sure be light at the end of all this.
