What does Friendship Mean to You?

What does friendship
mean to me? Hmm…that’s a tough question. Nah, just kidding! Friendship is the
most important aspect of my life. I’m not just talking about any friendship in
general, I meant the legit ‘ride or die' kind of friendship. To me, friendship
is about finding someone who shares the same interests as you and obviously
also embracing the differences. It is about having someone to call at 1am and
just talk about life till the wee hours in the morning. Friendship is about telling
all your secrets to them and trusting them that the secret remains between the
both of you. What I cherish the most in a friendship is that having that ONE
person who sticks by your side no matter what through thick and thin and is a
phone call away. The kind of friendship where they will stand up for you and
have your back when you’re not around.
Enough about blabbering
on the importance of a friendship. Let me share my story about my friendship with
you. Now, I won’t mention any names, but this person is a “she” and if you’re
reading this, you will surely know if I’m talking about you or not. This friend
of mine matters to me the most. I can’t imagine my daily life without her
presence. Why? Because she is my best friend, my other half, my ‘ride or die.’
What I love the most about our friendship is that we are extremely comfortable
with each other. Comfortable in a sense is where we can talk about everything
and anything together. Even if the things I’m about to tell her are going to
make me feel uncomfortable, I know that I can trust her to be a listener when I
need one.
She’s not the same as
my other friends that I have. She’s…. special. She’s the kind of friend that
would come check up on me if I stay quiet for too long. She’s also that friend
that will call me when I’m caught up with piles of work and I’ll get so
distracted that I’ll end up talking to her for an hour or two on the phone.
Like seriously, where can you get a best friend like that? On Shopee? On
Amazon? On eBay? Nope! She’s a blessing, a gift that words can’t describe how
much she means to me.
Honestly, I know I don’t tell her enough how much I appreciate her but deep down, I will actually cry if anything happens to her or even just by thinking about her migrating to another country. So, I’m grateful, thankful to have met her and have her being my rock and pillar.
P.S. the picture below is an illustration of me and her.
