College.

A place that I dreamt of, anticipated, longed and waited for in high school.

Is it any different?

Or is it still the same?

Back in high school, I wasn’t particularly committed to anything. Yes, I participated in many clubs, organized various events, lead countless meetings. No doubt, I excelled in my high school and yet, I was never attached to it. If anyone were to ask me of my most memorable moments there, I can only think of one : my friends. Aside from that, high school, to me, was just a skeleton, an isolated place that I dreaded to attend. Has anyone ever felt the same?

Maybe it was from that perception that contributed to my high expectations of college, perhaps too high of one. Similar to how parents expect high grades from us, I ,too, looked for too much in college. Not that I’m disappointed, just to correlate to another aspect which may be easier comprehend.

Thankfully, however, regret and boredom are never the words I would associate with INTI!

Life in college has been an adventure so far, from clubs to clubs and ,sadly, assignments to assignments. Yet, I still enjoy college and hopefully it stays that way! I relate, finally, to my seniors who always said to wait till I entered college to complain about stress. Well, true, college is definitely more stressful than high school. Otherwise, there would be a major flaw in our education system.

Not to sound like the ones whose life have brightened since enrolling into college but it’s hard to deny its differences with high school, at least for me.

First, coming from a semi-government school, the opportunity to choose my subjects was not given. Hence, being in INTI and in AUP especially, focusing on the subjects of my major without spending time on unnecessary subjects is heaven. Also, studying according to the American education system has allowed me to comprehend topics easier; I was never, probably will never be, a person who preferred attending classes only to prepare mainly for final examinations.

Thus, college has been interesting as of far and I look forward to the various activities and events organized!
