Habits of INTI Students
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle
I believe we all have heard this quote at least once or twice at some point in our lives and to further illustrate on this point, I believe all and sundry have habits; we are either shy to show it to the world or not proud of having a certain bad habit since there are so many distinctive and dissimilar habits found in people across the globe, this is on the account that all habits found in an individual is can range from good to inferior, weird and etc. According to Harvard Business Review, habits are a big deal in our lives because about 40% to 45% of what we do everyday sort of feels like a decision, but instead it’s a habit.
Without further ado, where else can we find a perfect place to analyze and observe people with different types of habits other than a college. So being a student myself at INTI, I am unable to hide the fact that I may have developed a habit or two, if not more. Also, I may have observed many students and even my own friends develop similar habits in the timespan of my friends and I being full-fledged students here at INTI Subang. Therefore, I have noticed innumerable habits that students tend to do on a daily basis which I can heavily relate to. First of all, I identify this as the ‘Elevator Habit’ and this is the habit which not only my friend and I dislike but I think many students would agree with me too! It sounds like this: as many INTI students may know, to reach the 2nd floor to the offices located in Block A, we are all only required to climb 2 flights of stairs and that’s it! But for some reason, some students are willing to take their oh so precious time to wait for the elevator, which will usually take about 5-8 minutes for it to come down. Not to forget, it is always crowded during peak hours when everyone has classes and, not only that, some students who are running late for class have to waste another minute in the elevator just because that person decides to take the elevator to the 2nd floor when instead they could have just taken the stairs! Now if you are old, or have any health complications or just aren’t able to take the stairs, then we understand. But if you are overall in the peak of health, then I highly suggest you to take the stairs if you want to head to the 2nd floor of Block A ! Think about it !

On to the next popular habit among my dearest students of INTI is the ‘Glass door habit’. Well this is another habit that has occurred countless times in the gallery, which is also known as lobby for some. Now this habit goes like this - when students choose to enter the gallery or lobby through the glass door; the manual glass door in which we all pass by the 2 toilets to open. Yes, that door! If you still don’t know which door I’m talking about, then sorry, I don’t know which planet you’re from! For some apparent reason, when students enter the gallery or lobby, they don’t close it and it’s just left wide open ! It is usually the left side that’s left open. Seriously people, how hard is it to close the door? Now I know some of you may say it’s convenient if it’s left open so you don’t have to purposely reach the door to open it but we have a door for a reason! Besides, the entrance is close to the female toilet and I believe no one wants to be smelling or breathing the “pure fresh air” that will be flowing all the way in. Again, think about it ! These are the 2 habits that are commonly seen practiced among students of INTI. I hope we are all able to change for the better no matter how small or big the habit is! Bye for now and stay safe!
