What does Friendship Mean to You?

What does friendship mean to you?

By what state, do you call a person friend?

Meet each other every day? Have mutual interest? Feel comfortable hanging out together? To be honest, I have no idea what actual "friendship" is as well…

Friendship, can be a simple definition of a close relationship between two people; Yet, I overthink a lot. It might sound awkward, but I have different meanings for every type of friend.

University-friend, Work-friend, Online friend, Real-life friend, and the only one best friend.

You might think and ask, "What's the difference? They are all your friends."

Nope, that's not how it works for me.

University and work-friends are people I meet almost every day yet not with deep connection. Barely talk about personal issues except for university and work-related topics.

What about an Online-friend VS a Real-life-friend? This is the question I usually doubt of myself. I have the same conversation with both; I feel comfortable when I am with either, yet, what matters is if I’ve met them in real life or not. However, I tend to have more conversations when I'm with an online friend; why? Because mutual interests bring us together. Real-life friends might not have mutual interests, but the old memories and familiarity have bound us together since then.

Last but not least, the one and only one, best friend. She is the one nobody else can replace. She is the one I can spread out most of my positive and negative feelings in front of; my personal experiences, problems, and so on…

How she became my best friend? She's the one I met with the shortest relationship among my real-life-friend, yet the one with the most memories among all my friends. I believe this is what we call fate and destiny.

Friendship, I can't define it.

I suppose we decide who becomes our friends by our feelings, and of course, instinct.
